We met through Gillian’s sister and Maid of Honor, Adrienne. At the time, Adrienne and Gillian were living together in downtown Milwaukee. One night, Adrienne was heading out with friends and invited Gillian to join. The plan was the German Beer Fest in Milwaukee, and that’s where Gillian first met Hunter. They both still laugh about their first interaction: Hunter immediately gave Gillian a hard time for drinking a seltzer at a beer festival. Their first official date was at Dorsia, a pasta restaurant in Milwaukee. Little did Hunter know at the time that Gillian didn’t even like pasta, which has remained a running joke ever since.
